The Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent is led by elected Superintendent Steve Watson. The office is statutorily responsible to provide services supporting school governing board elections, bond and override elections, appointments, school finance, and maintain homeschool and private school records. The superintendent leverages the office to strengthen teacher voice, increase respect for the education profession, and create resources that expand the capacity of teachers, administrators, and support staff. The superintendent also oversees the Maricopa County accommodation school.

The Center for Innovation in Informal STEM Learning (CIISL) brings communities together to understand our world and shape the future.

The center investigates how people learn science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) across their lifetimes. By working with museums, libraries, and other informal learning organizations across the country, we make opportunities for all people to create new visions for STEM and for society.

The mission of IFIS will be to help embody ideas about innovation, knowledge and future across ASU and to develop them broadly throughout society, through an ambitious and integrated agenda for education, training, research, outreach, and engagement. IFIS comprises a set of inter-related research centers, each of which pursues different but mutually supportive aspects of this mission.
